1. Overview
Canuckduck facilitates transparent and accountable donation management to ensure that funds are allocated to verified organizations in a structured and responsible manner. This document outlines the policies and processes governing donations, organization verification, and fund disbursement.
2. Organization Verification & Registration
2.1 Eligibility Requirements
To receive donations through Canuckduck, organizations must: ✅ Be a registered non-profit, charity, or business with a valid business number. ✅ Provide legal documentation proving their operational status. ✅ Submit contact details for key stakeholders. ✅ Undergo a one-time verification process before being listed.
2.2 Periodic Verification & Account Activity
- Organizations must revalidate their status if they remain inactive for 12 months.
- A one-week reminder is sent prior to verification expiration.
- Large organizations (500+ employees) and government entities are exempt from periodic verification.
2.3 Failed Verification & Reapplication
- If an organization fails verification, its profile is publicly labeled as "Verification Failed".
- Organizations may reapply using the same business details.
- If key business information changes, a manual review is required before reinstatement.
3. Donation Process & Transparency
3.1 User Donations & Tracking
- Users can donate funds in CDK Real or Hedera for transparent tracking.
- Every donation moves through a structured process: [User Account] → [Canuckduck Escrow] → [Verification] → [Disbursement]
- Each transaction is publicly visible on a donation ledger.
3.2 Escrow Process & Verification Checks
- Canuckduck temporarily holds donations in escrow while verifying fund use legitimacy.
- If an organization fails verification, funds are automatically refunded to donors after a 3-day appeal period.
- If the organization corrects its status, funds are disbursed as planned.
3.3 Donation Batching & Large Transfers
- Donations are batched in $100 increments to optimize processing.
- If an organization raises over $10,000 in a short period, Canuckduck executives manually review before release.
- $50,000+ disbursements require approval from at least two Canuckduck executives.
4. Emergency Donations & Fast-Tracked Disbursement
4.1 Criteria for Emergency Disbursement
Emergency funds can bypass the standard waiting period if: ✅ The donation is for urgent disaster relief or critical infrastructure needs. ✅ The issue is verified through AI-driven monitoring of Pond discussions. ✅ A Canuckduck executive authorizes the fast-track release.
4.2 AI & Community Validation of Urgency
- AI scans Pond for discussions related to the donation request.
- If there is no community engagement or public concern, the donation is flagged for additional review before approval.
4.3 Executive Oversight
- Emergency disbursements must be approved by the Canuckduck executive layer.
- A minimum of two executives must sign off on amounts exceeding $50,000.
5. Public Transparency & Accountability
5.1 Publicly Visible Transaction Flow
- Donors can track their contributions from initial donation to final disbursement.
- Transactions are displayed with: ✅ Amount donated ✅ Organization receiving the funds ✅ Executive approvals (if applicable)
5.2 Failed Organizations & Accountability
- Organizations that fail verification remain publicly listed as "Verification Failed".
- AI passively monitors Pond discussions to detect concerns regarding listed organizations.
- If issues gain traction in Pond, a silent internal review is triggered before public action is taken.
6. User Responsibilities & Engagement
- Users are responsible for ensuring they donate to organizations they trust.
- Canuckduck does not guarantee organization sustainability—funding responsibility remains with the recipient.
- Organizations that receive funding must comply with local taxation and transparency laws.
7. Policy Updates & Amendments
This policy is subject to periodic reviews and updates. Users will be notified of major changes.
